A new rapid-build social housing development was delivered at Bunratty Road as part of Dublin City Council’s four-site housing bundle, providing 78 high-performance homes constructed to Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standards. The scheme comprises 64 one- and two-bed apartments and 14 three-bed houses, delivered using Vision Built’s off-site manufactured 2D light-gauge steel panelised system, which reduced waste and supported a robust, low-carbon building programme. All homes achieved A2 BER ratings through enhanced insulation, airtightness, triple-glazed windows, and the use of exhaust-air heat pumps. Once installed on site, the structures were made weather-tight, fully fitted out, and completed with high-quality brickwork, cladding, landscaping, and biodiversity features. The project secured IGBC Home Performance Index certification, reflecting its strong sustainability credentials, brownfield regeneration approach, and excellent transport connectivity.
Designs complied with DEAP4, Part L regulations, and NZEB standards, while also meeting IGBC’s Home Performance Index.
