Why Light Gauge Steel

Light Gauge Steel Framing (LGSF) is a modern construction method offering speed, strength, and sustainability. It’s increasingly used across the UK and Ireland for residential, commercial, and modular builds. Here’s why:

Speed & Efficiency
  • Prefabricated offsite for rapid onsite assembly.
  • Reduces build time by up to 50%, enabling faster project delivery.
  • Ideal for modular housing, student accommodation, and urban developments.
Strength & Durability
  • Steel is non-combustible, pest-resistant, and immune to rot or warping.
  • Performs reliably in the UK’s variable climate and Ireland’s damp conditions.
  • Long-lasting with minimal maintenance, reducing lifecycle costs.
Sustainability
  • Recyclability and Circularity: Steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world (up to 93% in UK). All our products are designed for disassembly and relocation, providing high circularity.

  • Low Waste: LGSF generates up to 10x less onsite waste compared to timber or masonry, reducing landfill impact.

  • Energy Efficiency: Steel frames support airtight construction and integrate well with high-performance insulation, helping buildings achieve better U-values and lower energy consumption.

  • Reduced Carbon Footprint: Offsite manufacturing reduces transport emissions and site energy use. Combined with renewable energy sources, and green steel options, our LGSF can contribute to lower embodied carbon buildings.

  • Circular Economy Ready: At end-of-life, steel components can be dismantled and reused, supporting circular construction practices increasingly adopted in both UK and Irish building regulations

Precision & Flexibility
  • Manufactured using CAD and roll-forming technology with millimetre accuracy.

  • Enables complex architectural designs and long spans.

  • Suitable for a wide range of building types—from homes to hospitals.

Cost-Effectiveness
  • Lightweight frames reduce foundation and transport costs.

  • Faster build times lower labour and site overheads.

  • Long-term savings through durability, energy efficiency, and reduced maintenance.

Vision Built roll form our own LGS sections

Located on the West Coast of Ireland, our manufacturing facilities span over 100,000 sqft with 3-high quality light gauge steel roll forming machines, enables Vision Built to deliver wide range of section sizes.

We are a trusted partner and supplier to developers, contractors and offsite construction companies across the UK and Ireland. Our rolling machines offer high-precision manufacturing direct from coil steel for all your light gauge steel framing needs.

Our precision steel roll-forming machinery delivers a comprehensive range of steel sections. This combination of innovation and expertise delivers exceptional quality, durability, and efficiency for every project we undertake

Through robust and stringent quality procedures all rolled products and assembled panels leave the factory ready for use. Each rolled component is labelled and QR coded with all relevant information to speed up assembly time and provide full traceability back to the material origin.

Seamless links between the design software ensures data is transferred directly to our roll forming lines where we are able to manufacture to close tolerances. Our roll-forming technology produces framing components ready for on-site or off-site assembly, eliminating the need to manually cut components to size on site.

Our manufactured products are subject to rigorous quality standards which are fully compliant with our EN 1090-1: 2009 + AL: 2011 CE accreditation.

Pre-assembled panels

Vision Built offer a wide range of pre-assembled load bearing panels for structures up to 10 storeys. We also offer non-load bearing panelised solutions.

Pre-assembled panels for external Building Contractors / Façade Contractors / Clients:

  • We provide pre-assembled LGS panels direct to the construction site
  • All structural openings for windows, doors and builders works already included within the pre-assembled LGS panels
  • Can be inset within structural openings or express in front of the structure
  • We can provide external sheathing and insulation prior to delivery to site

Pre-assembled panels for use within 3D volumetric / modular structures

  • We utilise our 2D teams pre-assembled LGS panels to form external and internal walls within our own 3D module assembly process
  • Accuracy comes direct from our Revit model
  • Saves time of stick building walls
  • All structural openings for windows, doors and builders works already included within the pre-assembled LGS panels

Both solutions provide the following:

  • Flexible product supporting creative and innovative designs
  • Accurate, consistently high-quality pre-assembled LGS panels providing excellent buildability
  • Minimised construction delays due to poor weather – get your external façade build and sealed up much quicker than traditional build
  • Supports the critical path of a building project
  • Easy transportation, and less transportation, as this a flat packed product
  • Gain higher PMV and sustainability credentials on your projects
  • Supports the circular economy through infinitely recyclable steel and ‘green’ style options

NSAI Agrément Certification:

Independent Assurance You Can Trust

Vision Built is proud to be the first company in Ireland to achieve NSAI Agrément certification for both our 2D Light Gauge Steel (LGS) structural systems and our 3D volumetric modular building solutions. This dual certification places Vision Built at the forefront of safe, compliant and high‑performing offsite construction in Ireland and the UK.

What Is NSAI Agrément?

NSAI Agrément, part of the National Standards Authority of Ireland, provides independent technical certification for new and innovative construction systems. It is specifically designed for products and building methods that do not yet have long-term use histories or established national standards. Through rigorous testing and assessment, NSAI Agrément certifies that systems meet the required levels of performance, durability, safety and compliance.

Why It Matters

Our Agrément certification gives clients, designers and regulators clear, independent proof that Vision Built’s systems meet the highest technical standards. It supports:

  • Strong compliance with Irish and UK Building Regulations
  • Faster design approvals and reduced project risk
  • Confidence in adopting Modern Methods of Construction
  • Assurance of consistent, high-quality manufacturing and long-term performance

Supporting Ireland and the UK's MMC Ambitions

As both countries accelerate their use of Modern Methods of Construction, certified solutions are vital to ensuring trust, predictability and quality. Vision Built’s Agrément-certified 2D and 3D systems provide a robust, repeatable and fully assured platform for delivering Education, Health, Residential, Life Sciences and Infrastructure projects at pace and scale.
